I HAVE HEARD THAT THE ISLAND TRIPS & TOURS ARE REALLY OVER CROWDED IN PHUKET, IS IT TRUE?

Tourism in Phuket and across Thailand is huge and it is growing rapidly every year, so it makes sense that the numbers of tourists on tours and trips will be growing. I can tell you that YES there are a lot of people on many of the day trips on the speed boats, big boats and long tail boats, and YES it is crowded on the most popular locations. Everyone from all over the world is coming here to see this tropical paradise.

For people from countries like Japan or China and other very populated Cities and areas, the crowds do not really bother them at all, actually these crowds are a huge get away from the crowds they are used to at home. But for people from more slow, more quiet and less populated areas and countries, the crowds might be a bit too much to bare, but it is personal preference. Trips to the most popular destinations off Phuket, like James Bond Island, and Phi Phi Island, Khai island and others for example are totally different than what you might expect to experience when you see the pictures online.

The pictures and advertisements show lonely beaches and single speed boats in the water, where the reality is quite different, when you get there, there are 50 speedboats and the place sounds like a formula one track while all the boats are mooring, getting ready for passengers to disembark on land. Having said that, the islands are spectacular, the scenery is amazing! The water is Crystal clear and fluorescent aqua and blue and other striking colours, the places really take your breath away. Thailand has some of the most breath taking coast line and islands, scenery and natural beauty that I have ever seen in my life and I have traveled all over the world. I love this country.

But of course NOT all tours are over crowded, only the most popular locations as mentioned above. We do have so many amazing tour options. I guess what I am trying to say is be prepared for crowds, if you can look past the people and enjoy the moments and get in to the water and enjoy the day and each location you have an amazing time. I am by no means trying to deter anyone from coming and doing tours, quite the OPPOSITE, make sure that you do the tours when you are here, you really will be missing out on the experiences of a life time by not doing them. Don’t deprive yourself of the visual experience and the breath taking beauty.

The tour operators are always trying their best to keep up with demand and at the same time trying to come up with new and exciting offers for travelers. For example we have the Sunrise and Sunset trips, these arrive before any of the usual main stream crowds and times for the other tours and you are gone and done by the time they get there. For the Sunset tours, you get there AFTER the main stream times and after all the others have been and gone. How long these trips remain that way is to be seen, but I can tell you they are lovely. So tourism will continue to thrive and grow so we all need to just go along and play the game.

We are always taking hotel and tour bookings for Thailand, feel free to get in touch with us and say hi. We have a huge number of tours that limit the number of people per day to an island, so you can still have an incredible holiday in Thailand if you pick the right places to go. Talk to us:
