Khao Lak Tours White Water Rafting + Zipline + ATV + Canoe

Take on the exhilaration of an off-road journey with this Khao Lak white water rafting, ATV, and zip-lining excursion. Fly through thick jungle jungles and cross 5 km of raging river (7-9 km during the wet season, *extra charge). This exhilarating expedition even makes a stop at Wat Suwannakuha, popularly known as the monkey caverns and temple.

White water rafting is one of the programs we provide, along with a range of other activities. Every excursion takes you to the breathtaking Phang Nga region, which is located immediately to the north of Phuket Island. After riding an elephant through the jungle and visiting a wildlife refuge, you ride a 4WD vehicle further upriver to where the rafts are located. Additionally, you stroll through the bush to a stunning waterfall where you can swim.

Other tour groups from various provinces had gathered for the training at the base camp. Thick greenery screened the warm sun’s rays, and the sound of the river could be heard from the put-in site nearby. A few safety tips were covered by the instructors from various companies, including how to prevent running into stones, how to grab onto the raft using both hands and feet, and how to avoid running into tree branches. The experienced guide advised that in order to prevent limb injuries in the event that someone fell into the water, those on the raft should grab them by the life jacket. Additionally, the raft—an inflatable boat with multiple independent air chambers made of highly resilient, multi-layered rubberized or vinyl fabrics—was introduced to us. A qualified river guide would oversee each rafting trip, giving instructions and providing assistance with steering.

We finally boarded a big yellow rubber raft after a few minutes of theory, where we were given helmets, paddles, and life jackets—different colors for various teams. In a specially constructed enclosed reservoir, each team exercised teamwork. In the raft, one instructor was seated in the front and the other at the back. We received instruction on maneuvering the raft, steering, paddling, and propelling it forward and backward. We also participated in a water battle between two teams and got a little wet. If we didn’t mind being wet, it was going to be enjoyable.
