Thailand Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai is a fully licensed zoo, and that means that we have to operate and work by the same rules as any zoo around the world, and that means we must provide the best animal care possible.
Our number ONE concern is our Tigers and they are very well taken care of. We have an amazing team here including a team of on-site veterinarians who work alongside animal nutritionists and animal husbandry technicians to ensure the good health of our animals.
Our Mission is to teach all of our local & international visitors about the future of the wild tiger, and we hope that our animals can provide a once in a lifetime experience but can also inspire other people to care about tigers as much as we do. Thailand Tiger Kingdom Chiang Mai is an amazing experience and one that you really should treat yourself to.
- ARE THE TIGERS DRUGGED?
The sedation of our animals is a persistent myth which is constantly being busted, not only by visitors who witness our beautiful animals for themselves, but also by visiting vets, researchers, volunteers and most importantly the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, and the Zoo Licensing Authority, who would not allow us to operate if there was any sign of mistreatment towards our animals.
- HOW TO TOUCH THEM
Our Big Cats are handled, stroked and petted on a daily basis, so even the roughest of petting will not bother these Big Cats. It’s normal to them and that is why our cats are so relax when you play with them.
If you gently stroke the cats,it will feel ticklish and irritated, especially to a sleeping tiger. The best method is to cuddle and stroke the cat firmly to make it feel comfortable.
Baby Tiger are playful and likely to play with you. Sometime when playing it tend to be a bit rough or bite, so do be careful when handle with them.
- ARE ANY OF THE TIGERS HERE DRUGGED?
Most visitors come and spend a relatively short time in Tiger Kingdom, more than often they would encounter that these tigers are always sleeping. But cats are cats and they sleep up to 18 hours a day, just like kitty at home.
Please do not assume our cats are drugged. To make the most of your visit, our staff will play with the tigers during the day. And our cats are also trained to sleep and rest at night.
