Maya Bay is a breathtaking crescent of white sand tucked away on the uninhabited island of Koh Phi Phi Leh. Enclosed by towering, 100-meter-high limestone cliffs, its crystal-clear turquoise waters gained global fame as the primary filming location for the movie The Beach.

Due to its immense popularity, the bay underwent an extensive ecological restoration project to protect its delicate coral reefs and blacktip reef shark population. Today, it stands as a shining example of sustainable tourism; while visitors can no longer swim directly in the bay, the view remains one of the most iconic and serene spectacles in the world.

Bamboo Island, known locally as Koh Mai Phai, is a tropical dream located just north of the main Phi Phi islands. Unlike its rugged, cliff-heavy neighbors, this tiny island is remarkably flat and heart-shaped, fringed by a wide border of pristine white sand. Its center is lush with evergreen trees and the bamboo that gives the island its name, offering a shaded escape from the tropical sun.

Khai Nok Island is a tiny, picturesque gem located just a short boat ride from Phuket. Part of the Khai Island group, it is famous for its distinct shape and vibrant “hidden” beauty. The island is essentially a sparkling white sandbar surrounded by shallow, crystal-clear waters that are home to schools of friendly, colorful fish that often swim right up to the shore.

Because the water is calm and shallow, it is an ideal destination for families and beginner snorkelers. Visitors can relax at the small beachfront bars, enjoy fresh coconut water, or explore the rocky outcrops that define this charming tropical escape.
