Visit beautiful Thai Temple (Wat Bang Tong at Krabi) / Wat Mahathat Watchiramongkhon or Wat Bang Thong, situated at Mu 3 Tambon Nana Nuea, Amphoe Ao Luek, Krabi, was built in 1940 and royally granted Wisung Khamasima or consecrated boundaries on 13 February, 1953. The temple features some fascinating things; for example, the prominent stupa, Phra Mahathat Chedi Si Thong enshrining the Buddha’s relics granted from King Rama X when he was Crown Prince, a Buddha image in the attitude of giving the first sermon measuring 3 metres wide across the lap and a lifelike statue of Luangpu Thuat with a measurement of a 9-metre-and-9-inch-wide span lap.
